We had so many wonderful meals in Hungary, living a #Travelife, but one of our favorites was a steak lunch at Kollazs, the restaurant of the Four Seasons Gresham Palace in Budapest. This restaurant really has nice memories for me. On my previous visit to Budapest, I stayed at this same hotel and a beautiful Christmas market was under way in the hotel lobby.
This time was equally memorable. We ordered the bone marrow to start, which was the same thing I ordered on my last trip, and the pea soup. The bone marrow was mixed with delectable chunks of meat. It was amazingly delicious.
THE BEST STEAKS IN THE WORLD
Then, as we were in the mood for really good steaks, we went for gold. We shared a Brazilian rib eye steak and an Argentinian beef tenderloin with all the proper sides between us. We’d had the famous Hungarian Gray Cattle steak the previous night, so we wanted to compare some of the best steaks in the world.
We’d been wanting to do cocktails since we landed in Europe, too. But somehow we always gravitated towards champagne and wine. But when I saw that amazing bar at Kollazs once again, I said: “This is definitely the place to order some nice cocktails.”
COCKTAILS AT KOLLAZS, AT THE FOUR SEASONS BUDAPEST
Cocktails at lunch seem so decadent. But it was a beautiful day in Budapest, we were having such a nice time, and all seemed right with the world. How could we not? Interestingly, we chose the same cocktail out of a pretty long and intriguing list. And these drinks came so beautifully presented with blueberries and raspberries on oyster shells on top.
Fittingly so. The world was certainly our oyster during those two weeks in beautiful Hungary, living a #Travelife.
PS: The last time I was at this hotel, we bumped into Charlize Theron in the elevators. This time, Sylvester Stallone was in residence. Read more articles about Budapest and Hungary in Travelife Magazine.
